Paul Powell is a television writer/producer with over 20 years of experience. Besides working in entertainment and comedy, he’s a creative director of Black Dog Television, the independent production company behind Alexander Armstrong’s Big Ask.
His television credits include Have I Got News For You, Spitting Image and three series of Life of Riley. Radio credits include The Now Show, The Griff Rhys Jones Show, and It's Your Round (starring Angus Deayton).
Career highlights include writing for Will Smith and Whoopi Goldberg, hugging Girls Aloud, and orbiting Buzz Aldrin at ITV Studios.
He's picked up a Comedy Award for Al Murray's Happy Hour, an RTS award for Miranda, and the title of 39th greatest comedy sketch for Smack The Pony.
While idling in his local coffee shop, he co-wrote the best-selling Top Gear: Alternative Highway Code (BBC Books).
