What we do

The ALCS Mandate

All writers are asked to sign a copy of the ALCS mandate when you join ALCS as a Member. This is so that we can be clear and transparent about all the 'rights' and circumstances in which we will administer any fees on your behalf, ie all of those circumstances where collective administration is the most appropriate method of collecting fees.

Want to know what it is exactly you're signing up to?

Have a look at the 'plain English' version of our membership mandate for an explanation about the circumstances in which we might operate on your behalf. If anything is still unclear please feel free to give us a call.

The ALCS Mandate: A comprehensive guide

ALCS works closely with the writers' unions the Society of Authors and the Writers' Guild of Great Britain as well as agents to determine appropriate licensing solutions for writers and only operates in circumstances where collective licensing is the most appropriate solution, but if there's anything you're not sure about do contact us and we'll be happy to discuss any questions you may have.
