We believe writers should be paid wherever their works are used. We make sure you receive the money you’re owed when someone copies or uses your work.
We collect money from around the world, then pay it to our members twice a year. Since 1977, we’ve paid our members more than £700 million.
We represent all types of writers, including novelists, scriptwriters, academics and journalists. If you’re a writer, you may be owed money.

AI and Copyright Consultation
We made a submission to the Government’s AI and Copyright consultation, making the case for creators and copyright, and supporting our members to participate and write to their local MP on the issue.
We urged the Government to reconsider the opt-out model, enforce greater transparency and consider an alternative model to support licensing.
